File awareness
Download and APK checks
An APK is an Android installation package. Its filename does not establish who created it, whether it is current or whether it has been altered. Before installation, compare the source address, file name, device warning and requested permissions. Do not disable broad security settings simply because a page tells you to do so.
Keep only the file you intend to inspect, remove old duplicates and avoid sending installation packages through public groups. After installation, review background activity and data use. If the app behaves differently after an update, pause account activity until you have checked the source again.
iOS users should not treat Android instructions as interchangeable. The device platform, installation method and permission model are different.
